I have installed a precompiled "Snort-Shadow-Slackware" from the
whitehats.ca site.


I am confused about what the difference is between snort.internal.conf and
snort.external.conf

I have a server with dual NIC's
I assumed one was for the sensor and the other for management.
I understand most people create a separate management network but I just
hung both NIC's on the same subnet and gave a fixed IP to just the internal
one.

I am greatly confused.
