Because you failed on dependencies? i.e.
        libcrypto.so.2 is needed by php-4.1.2-7.3.6
        libdb-3.3.so is needed by php-4.1.2-7.3.6
        libmm.so.11 is needed by php-4.1.2-7.3.6
        libssl.so.2 is needed by php-4.1.2-7.3.6
 
And I am curious as to why you are building on RH9, it is already end of
lifed by Redhat.  You might try Fedora Core (http://fedora.redhat.com if
you just like Redhat) or any

When I change environment as below said as from page
18 to 19 in "Snort Installation Manual - Snort, MySQL,
Redhat 7.3",(same version as document), Why I still
FAIL to install PHP?
  -snort-2.2.0
  -MySQL-client-3.23.58-1.i386.rpm
  -MySQL-shared-3.23.58-1.i386.rpm
  -MySQL-3.23.58-1.i386.rpm

  -php-4.1.2-7.3.6.i386.rpm
  -php-mysql-4.1.2-7.3.6.i386.rpm
  -Redhat 9

The error message:
[root@Neil snort_php_41]# rpm -ivh
php-mysql-4.1.2-7.3.6.i386.rpm
warning: php-mysql-4.1.2-7.3.6.i386.rpm: V3 DSA

error: Failed dependencies:

still can't rpm those packages as below, someone can

the
whole installation process?
