I am new to snort and would consider myself a novice in Linux so please pardon the newbie question. I am currently running Debian and installed Snort and Acidlab via dselect. Configured eth1 as the interface I use to install packages, and also access the box. I would like to use eth0 as the snort interface, in fact that is what I setup when I installed everything via dselect. The question is, how do I setup eth0 in my /etc/network/interfaces section to make sure eth0 is working correctly. Below is the output of the file # The first network card - this entry was created during the Debian installation Auto eth1 Iface eth1 inet dhcp # eth0 - used for snort Don't know what to put here, maybe the same as eth1 ?
