That's easy.

You are trying to launch Snort that was compiled with MySQL support,
but it can't find the mysql libraries.

Solution:
Install mysql libraries or edit your /etc/ld.so.conf to point to them
if they already exist.

I have a problem starting snort:

 

root@snort_jr_dmz bin]# ./snort -v

./snort: error while loading shared libraries: libmysqlclient.so.12:
cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory.

 

[root@snort_jr_dmz bin]# pwd

/usr/local/bin

 

Does any one have any idea why I am receiving this error ?
