Export variables into snort startup process

Is there a way to export variables during startup to give snort.conf access
to them..

IE-

snort -i ethx -R -X -u snort -N -l /var/log/snort -c /etc/snort.conf
VARIABLE_NAME=VAR


I have several different sensors, and would like to use one snort.conf... In
order to facilitate this, I need to set sensor_name inside of the sql
information...
