We've been using Netoptics also.  We use their fiber taps and recently
upgraded to the port aggregator taps.  Very nice, and worth the money if
you can swing it.

We have been using them for 2 years already. Never failed, never lost a
packet. They were some 300$/each I believe. Could be less now.

What's our most favorite Ethernet tap? The application is for a sensor
positioned between a router and switch that doesn't have spanning port
capabilities. This segment has moderate utilization.
