how to clean up database?

Hi folks!!!


I have a problem... I need to make a query to delete information on my
database (i use mysql) like this: "delete everything since beginnig, until
any date (like 05/01/2004).
How could i do that, without any problems in my database? i dont want to
cause inconsistency into my database.
