Nmap Scan Not Detected

I'm running snort 2.1.1 with the latest rules and I have scan.rules turned on in my snort.conf. I told snort to snort on -i eth1 (snort -dev -l /var/log/snort/logs/ -h 1.2.3.4/32 -c /etc/snort/snort.conf -i eth1 ) which is my external interface on my home net. Then I ran "nmap -O 1.2.3.4" as root from an IP sitting on the Internet (1.2.3.4 is my home net's external IP). I was expecting a log file to tell me a fingerprint scan was initiated against me, but there was none... What did I do wrong? Thanks! __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
