Andrew,

a few hints:

- don't read the FAQ or search the archives first, your problem is 
  certainly unique;

- repost the same question until you get a satisfactory reply, people 
  here are slow to respond until you really bugger them.  Use varying 
  subject lines for improved redundancy;

- make sure you don't pay attention to the answers you get;

- don't read up on TCP/IP basics first, that's not required to run snort.
