Can't Start Snort - ERROR: No netmask specified for home network!

I'm running IDScenter 1.1 RC4 on Windows 2000 Professional.


When I try to start Snort I get the message:
ERROR: No netmask specified for home network!
Fatal Error, Quitting..

snort.conf contains the following:

var HOME_NET 10.200.1.0/24
var EXTERNAL_NET any


I have also tried [10.200.1.0/24] and 10.200.1.90/32, but I get the same
error message.
Any ideas?


Also, in the Alert Detection screen, when I click on Test connection,
nothing happens.  (I have verified that the user snort and database snort
exist.)  Are the test results logged to a file?  I'm using MySQL on its own
Windows 2000 Server.
