I have added /usr/local/lib into ld.so.conf, and
restart my redhat 9.0. However, it reported the same
result when I ran snort -?.

Can anybody help me out?

Thanks,

Yuedong Wu

Do you think I still need set up load lib to
/usr/local/lib in /etc/ld.so.conf?

YES!
If libidmef.so.0 is in /usr/local/lib you MUST have
that path in your
ld.so.conf, or move the library to a directory that
is in that path.

Dynamic libraries for *any* executable will NOT load
from any directory
that is not in ld.so.conf... period.
