Problem running make in Solaris 8 i386

I installed a previous version before quite easily but it has been
sometime.

I've searched the archives and can't find my problem.  I run the
following:

 

./configure -with-mysql=/usr/local/mysql

This runs fine.

make

Here is gives me the following:

Make: Fatal error in reader: Makefile, line 484: Unexpected end of line
seen

 

I am trying to install snort on a Solaris 8 for intel.

 

Any help or advice would be great.
