Storable.xs error

I saw the note about the patch for perl 5.8.0 but I am not sure what to 
do to fix this error So what is the recomended solution.  Take perl 
5.8.0 and add this patch and recomplie, or is the new Storable ready. 
Not quite sure of the direction to take.
