Snort and IPSec

Hi

Does anyone have any experience / observations about using snort to
sniff IPSec traffic (encrypted) passing through a sensor. 

Noting that that particular sensor may not be IPSec enabled or may not
have they correct key / cert for the traffic passing.

Can anything be made out about the packets passing?
