snmp traps for snort

Hi,
I am running snort 1.9.1 on windows 2000, using mysql and ACID. 
Is it possible for me to write snmp traps for this setup (to send alerts to
MIB) etc. And if so what language can i use?, anyone know any good sites where
i can get instructions on how to do it.
