I was curious why there weren't any RPM's for 2.0 yet ? Is there
no longer a maintainer?

If anybody wants some snort rpms, I've got a set I use.

Mine are organized as

snort --- the only binary rpm, the rest are noarch, delivers
                /usr/bin/snort, snort(1), and a wad o' loose docs
                into /usr/share/doc/snort-...

snort-doc --- delivers the snort user manual which I
                mirrored down from snort.org

snort-run --- delivers init script, plus mkdirs
                /var/log/snort

        snortrules --- delivers /etc/snort from
                snortrules-current.tar.gz, applying one patch to
make it work (editing RULE_PATH to /etc/snort), and
whatever other tuning I want (at the moment I'm just
#-ing out a couple of sids in bad-traffic.rules)

This structure is organized around a separate rpm for each source.

NB: I developed these for my own personal use; they reflect the
design decisions that suited me. I'm not currently equipped with
the resources to aggressively maintain these to attempt to address
everyone's needs. I won't mind hearing requests for changes, I just
might not honor 'em:-).

Anyone who wants them is welcome, they're published at
<URL:http://bent.latency.net/snort-rpms/>. Anyone is also welcome to
take my packaging work and do absolutely anything with it, including
putting their own name on it.
