All that I can suggest is to try recompiling and installing  php again, see
if that helps?

I am running 4.0.13 mysql (binaries)
PHP version 4.3.2 (compiled with --with-mysql --with-gd
--enable-sockets)


Could you point me in any sort of direction?  I am not a PHP expert(!)
but I am stuck here!  It works OK with the redhat precompiled PHP, but I
would very much like to use the source version if poss.
