Use -i command line option when starting Snort. For example, if you want to
start Snort on network interface eth1, use "-i eth1" on the command line
while starting Snort. If you are using a script to start Snort, modify the
script.

Subject: [Snort-users] interface initialization

Hi,
I have snort running on a linux 8.0 machine with two interfaces. I want
snort
to initialize on the interface with no ip address, but it seems to default
to
the ip assigned interface. How can I specify what interface snort
initializes
on?

Thanks,
Derek
