RE: unknown output plugin 'database'

My output line is as follows:
output database: alert, mysql, user=myusername password=mypassword 
dbname=mydatabase host=mylocalhost
...names changed to protect the inocent.
Also, FYI, I tried downloading and installing the rpms and these seem to 
work alright. So I guess it's something during the complation???
I wonder if it has to do with the MySQL version of the libs? I've seen 
some other people with the same problem, but only with 1.9.1. I'm using 
MySQL 3.23.54a-4 by the way (-v)
