If you haven't installed GNU m4, then do so.  If you have GNU m4 installed
on your system (say, along side a non-GNU m4) then set the M4 environment
variable to the full path to the GNU binary.  If you're using a sh-type
shell, "export M4=/full/path/to/m4" will work.  If you're using a csh-type
shell, "setenv M4 /full/path/to/m4" is what you want.  More info on m4 can 
be found on the GNU site at http://www.gnu.org/directory/GNU/gnum4.html.
