Building RPM ?

Hi!

 I'm trying to build the snort rpm myself (some minor modifications compared
to the standard setup) - but when running rpmbuild on my RedHat 8.0 I get:

+ export LANG
+ touch -r . COPYING ChangeLog LICENSE Makefile.am Makefile.in acconfig.h
aclocal.m4 config.guess config.h.in config.sub configure configure.in
contrib doc etc install-sh missing mkinstalldirs rules snort.8 src
stamp-h.in templates
+ automake
configure.in:4: your implementation of AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE comes from an
configure.in:4: old Automake version.  You should recreate aclocal.m4
configure.in:4: with aclocal and run automake again.
error: Bad exit status from /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.85722 (%build)

I manually updated automake to 1.7.2 and autoconf to 2.57 - but what is this
problem caused by ??
