Error : OPEN PCap ( )

Hi all ..

after some investigations and clear all snort previus instalations .. 
in my RH box .  i'm here again ..  now I do all thing right ..

but have this error when  do snort -c /etc/snort/snort.conf ..

error: open pcap ( ) device eth0 open:
          socket: operation not permited


wthat does that mean ..  if I have de pcap in my system ..  or need 
other lib ... ?
