Hi
you should start snort with -i
snort -i <nic name=(eth0, xl0)>



To make snort stealth, it requires more than just an ifconfig command.
I  remembering seeing a paper
here around discussing that, but of course I can't find it. Though I
also have one regarding Hogwash[1].
