Traffic hangs when specifiying adapter

Hi,

I am using winpcap 2.3 and snort from sillicondefense wich I'm trying to use as as sniffer, but when I spefify my 
internet adapter (-i2), my internet traffic stops. I have tried different versions of snort (from silicondefense) but 
that didn't help. I am using Windows 2000. Does someone know how to solve this?
