My snort has suddenly spat the dummy, fails at startup.
Any clues appreciated, here are the log entries;

Nov 11 11:58:08 localhost snort: Initializing daemon mode
Nov 11 11:58:08 localhost snort: PID stat checked out ok, PID set to
/var/run/
Nov 11 11:58:08 localhost snort: Writing PID file to "/var/run/"
Nov 11 11:58:09 localhost kernel: device eth0 entered promiscuous mode
Nov 11 11:58:10 localhost snort: FATAL ERROR: ERROR misc-lib Line 13=>
hexmode is not completed
Nov 11 11:58:10 localhost kernel: device eth0 left promiscuous mode

running debian testing 2.4.16-686.
