Look at http://www.flytech.com/pos4000-1.htm

These are larger than say, a LinkSys cable router, but smaller than a normal
PC.

We've used about 3 of these on another project, and they seem to work fine.
We put in a 512m cflash card as the hdd.

Hi,

I think it's possible to run it on a Cobalt Cube from sun (if you have
enough with 2 interfaces), it runs on linux and is easy to setup.

For some offices, yes. In offices that can support a 1U server, that's what
I plan to use. But many of my offices have their router and firewall
equipment under a desk, or mounted on a wall. I don't want to deliver a
system which is gonna be in the way. Plus, if it looks more like a router
instead of a PC, there's less of a chance of some user powering it off!
