-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Thanks, all, and especially to Shawn Grimes (NIA/IRP) for his detailed list of Speedera hosts. Yes, my server in question is one of our local DNS servers, and yes, one of our users must be hitting a Speedera hosted site. I also got a reply directly from Speedera's sysadm. They sent me their "Ping Packet FAQ" that describes their "service" to the Internet community. - - Christopher -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: PGP 7.1.1 iQA/AwUBPThxR6u/XM0hJhuIEQLFuwCg16PM1x+JMIkdrUzN/fLyycj7TT4AoOWB bXGud1G4hQ5a45rGoUUNS5gt =7v4x -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -----Original Message----- From: Neville, Greg [mailto:gneville () akamai com] Sent: Friday, July 19, 2002 3:55 PM To: 'L. They most likely use ICMP packets to determine latency to and from certain sites to determine where the best place to serve content to a certain user from. One of your users probably went to a site hosted by Speedera and they were trying to determine which one of their web hosting sites to serve the content from. Or maybe your site is hosted by Speedera? -----Original Message----- From: L. I still don't know why Speedera just started messing w/ my network, but I'm now bugg'n their sysadm for more information. Hopefully, I'll get an answer from them soon. If not, then maybe I'll just drop their packets at my router... :) Sincerely, L. Christopher Luther Technology Manager Xybernaut Solutions, Inc.
