Mandrake 8.0

[nitewalker <nitewalker () fastmail fm>]

I am using Mandrake 8.0 and seem not to be able to get snort to configure 
after I download it, is there a problem with using snort with Mandrake?  If 
not would like to know where to find some help to get it to configure.
