Hey just wanted to say a big thanks to Chris, Fyodor, and James for the help with my snort issues.  
I appreciate the patience and the stick to it toness...

Removing the __inline__ fixed it, I finaly was able to do a clean make, and make install, and when I tried it up in 
daemon mode, it failed due to not reading
classification.config, but it didn't core dump.  So it looks like I am almost out of the woods...

So the trick on HP-UX, is comment out the __inline__ in debug.h and spp_anomsensor.c
