David,

This should do the trick for you.....

ifconfig <interface> plumb arp

Use the command, ifconfig a to see if the card is
working properly. You should see an output similar to
this:

Flags=8c3<UP, BROADCAST, RUNNING, NOARP, MULTICAST>

mtu 4352

inet 0.0.0.0 netmask 0

ether 8:0:20:f0:0:ba
