(ot) how to get alert size?

Hi,

I know I should as this somewhere else, but don't know where :(
Aight, I have 10 sensors in a lab that sends alerts directly to 
a central MySQL database server. I want to get the following 
information: The size of all the data that is being sent from the
sensors to the database server.

What tools can I use?
