Re: 1.8.5 mysql_error

tried to use it this evening:
FATAL ERROR: database: mysql_error: Access denied for user: 'acid@localhost' (Using password: NO)

here is the line from snort.conf:
output database: alert, mysql, user=acid  password=my.pwd dbname=snort host=localhost

hmmm... definetly a password there.
i tried removing the period in the password, but that didn't work either.

echo "show tables;" | mysql snort -u acid -pmy.pwd
   blurts out the list of tables - so mysql is working correctly
