libpcap question

I have libpcap unpacked at /home/installs/libpcap. I ran from here
 ./configure --prefix=/usr/local/libpcap06, make, make install to install libpcap under /usr/local.
Can I safely remove /home/installs/libpcap directory and leave only /usr/local/libpcap06 ?(there are no much files 
there...)
