good and bad network

Hi,
	I am a newbie for TCP network (only setup to work).  I didnot know more 
about how TCP work in the deep.  I'd like to know how to practice the good 
configuration network.  Especially, How to  do with snort alert log?  I 
mean how to fixed error which log in snort alert log file?
