Depending on your OS, you may get a console alert that the link is down. Have you tried it? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Snort Mailinglist" <snort_list () hotmail com> To: <snort-users () lists sourceforge net> Sent: Monday, November 05, 2001 3:04 PM Subject: [Snort-users] Detecting traffic from a Nic without an IP address
Hello, I have a question regarding the use of snort with a NIC that does not have an IP address (stealth mode). Is there a way to detect whether or not
that
card is receiving traffic? My concern is if someone inadvertently unplugs the cable, can a notification be sent to warn that the NIC has lost connectivity. Thank you, Mike _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp _______________________________________________ Snort-users mailing list Snort-users () lists sourceforge net Go to this URL to change user options or unsubscribe: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/snort-users Snort-users list archive: http://www.geocrawler.com/redir-sf.php3?list=snort-users
