Setting up SnortDB

Hey y'all

I'm in the process of setting up an OpenBSD box up to run snort and log
to a database.  I'm in the final steps of building the tables in
snortdb-extra, but I have had the mysql running now for about 3.5 hours
on adding the services (INSERT INTO services ...) with mysqld running
~90% CPU usage.

Is this normal?

Or, more likely, I pooched the build of mysql?

Running on:

Dell PIII/500 128M RAM
OpenBSD 2.8-stable
mysql 3.23.40
snort 1.70
