Snort 1.8 and SnortSnarf

I've gone back to Snort 1.7 for awhile.  I've
got snort 1.7 and SnortSnarf working pretty
well together.  When I brought up snort 1.8 on
a couple of sensors, my nightly SnortSnarf reports
were messed up.  The problem seems to be related
to the new syslog format in the most recent releases
of snort 1.8.  My snort platform is Solaris 8.

If anyone has this combo working, I'd like to hear some
thoughts on what they did.
