install Include files and libraries for development for i386 systems. The
RPM link is: 

http://www.mysql.com/Downloads/MySQL-3.23/MySQL-devel-3.23.40-1.i386.rpm

If you are not using Linux, get/install the source from www.mysql.com. It
should then work.

        I am also interested in opinons of demarc...I tried the
configuration
and for some reason DBD::mysql fails during the make.  I am using gnu
make 3.77, tried moving up to 3.79 and still no luck, though it still
said 3.77 after the install.  Wish I knew what I was doing...wrong.
