AW: snort+dynamic ip address

to stop snort i do a "kill -9 pid" and restart it by doing:
root@www:/usr/snort-1.7/bin # ./snort -c ../etc/snort.conf -i tun0 -D

How are you restarting snort?
It should not keep state across processes normally... :-)....
I.e. it should work the same no matter how many times you restart it...
