IDMEF XML Pluggin

Hello,

I am trying to install the IDMEF XML Pluggin for Snort 1.7.  I have
installed the following libraries: Libxml2, Libidmef, Libntp, Libpcap.  I
have also followed all the instructions within the INSTALL file for the
pluggin.  I then try to run the configuration for Snort with the proper
paths of these libraries as follows:

./configure --enable-edmef --with-libidmef-includes=/usr/local/include/libid
mef --with-libidmef-libraries=/usr/local/lib --with-libxml-includes=/usr/loc
al/include --with-libxml-libraries=/usr/local/lib

I recieved the following error-

configure:error: libidmef library (idmef) not found in /usr/local/lib

The contents of the /usr/local/lib directory are as follows:

libidmef.a                      libxml2.a                       libpcap
libidmef.la                     libxml2.la                      xml2Conf.sh
libidmef.so                     libxml2.so                      pkgconfig (directory)
libidmef.so.0           libxml2.so.2
libidmef.so.0.6.1               libxml2.so.2.3.13

After looking at the config.log file I see that the variable globalsInit is
not being found in -lidmef.

I looked in the idmefxml libraries using the nm command line option and
globalsInit is within these files.  If anyone has any ideas I would
appreciate it.  Thanks!
