weird signatures........

i keep getting these signatures when testing SNORT with the attack perl
script....

      "}@^Tøòÿ¿Rs„òÿ¿øòÿ¿øòÿ¿°€øòÿ¿@^T^TÚ– 2001-07-11
18:40:34 unknown  unknown  IP


any1 know what's going on ?
also, ICMP packets and UPD packets never show up in ACID ... running b12 at
the monent, the old snort 1.7 used to show ICMP packet and UDP, this is not
the case any longer, is the the perprocesors fault or did i forget to
configure something ?
