snort not logging

[meling <meling () scan-associates net>]

Hi,

I've installed and reinstalled snort, but somehow, snort 
does not seem to log any packet. At one point, it did, then
after that, no matter how many tests I did, it didn't log
anything at all. I've tried logging to database and log file,
and both worked only once before. What could be the problem?
There is no core. I didn't have this problem with Build 43

Version 1.8.1-RELEASE (Build 74)
Linux kernel 2.4.2-2
