IPsec Tunnel

Hello People,

would anyone out there be able to point me in the right direction? I want to 
get the footprint of an IPsec tunnel packet using snort.
At this point I am able to detect the packets that are exhcanged during 
phase 1 of the VPN config. but I can't get anything in phase 2.
I am a beginner so if this question sounds dumb please forgive me. Thanks 
for your help,
