Most of them are still out there (one could say that NAI's CC:Monitor
was never a serious contender, especially if you ever looked at it). 
The problem these days is that the NIDS vendors are consolidating which
is making fewer, bigger vendors.  Whether or not their technology is
getting any better is your call... :)
