Check out Peter Coffee's latest column at:

It's a follow-up to Dan Geer's (et al's) now famous monoculture  
paper, three years after the paper was published.  Among other  
things, Coffee makes some interesting comparisons to the Internet  
monoculture situation that existed in November 1988 when Robert  
Morris unleashed his Internet worm program.  Interesting reading, IMHO.
