Previous Politech message: http://www.politechbot.com/2004/07/13/isp-monitoring/ Looks like the AOL policy is here: http://legal.web.aol.com/aol/aolpol/privpol.html -------- Original Message -------- Subject: Giga Law/Politech Date: Wed, 14 Jul 2004 16:04:21 EDT From: JulesPolo () aol com To: declan () well com Hi Declan: Doug's article references AOL policy on message boards, chatrooms....please note that he did not look at the AOL Privacy Policy available on
the AOL service which covers email accounts - see below from that policy. We do not read your private online communications. AOL honors the confidentiality of its members' private communications in private chat rooms, e-mail (including downloads), and Instant Message(TM) conversations, as well as any profile data you may create, such as a stockportfolio. AOL does not read or disclose private communications except to comply with
valid legal process such as a search warrant, subpoena or court order, to protect the company's rights and property, or during emergencies when webelieve physical safety is at risk. Of course, what you write or post in public or member chat rooms and message boards is available not only to AOL, but to all
members. _______________________________________________ Politech mailing list Archived at http://www.politechbot.com/ Moderated by Declan McCullagh (http://www.mccullagh.org/)
