--- Subject: Patriot Act curbing data retention Date: Tue, 14 Oct 2003 08:55:12 -0500 From: "Topher Wren" <topher () positivenetworks net> To: <declan () well com> Declan, Here is an article from the New York Times today on another example of the unintended consequences of the Patriot Act -- consequences that really have nothing to do with terrorism and everything to do with the continuing erosion of personal liberty and the adoption of suboptimal commercial practices designed to minimize everyone's exposure to the long tendrils of this law. Let's hope other companies are as conscientious as the businesspeople profiled in the article.
