Hi Declan -

Bonus Answer:  Yes.  Under Section 1030(a)(2)(C), it is a violation
intentionally to access a computer without authorization thereby obtaining
via an interstate communication (i.e., assumedly from Princeton, NJ to New
Haven, CT) information from a protected computer (as defined in Section
1030(e)(2)(B), i.e., a computer which is used in interstate commerce or
communication).  Potential liability is a fine or imprisonment for not more
than five years, or both, as the offense violated section (a)(2) and was
arguably for commercial gain (Ivy League competition being what it is these
days) and/or the value of the information exceeds $5000 (have you looked at
private school tuitions lately?).
