[At Wired News we're planning to have fun with the 30th anniversary of the
Net by spoofing an Al Gore interview. It seems amusing to quiz him about
how he invented the Internet, championed the Clipper Chip, etc. If anyone
has suggestions of what questions he should be "asked" or what his answers
would be, please email. We'll give you credit (unless you'd rather your
name be withheld). Thanks, Declan]

                     London's Big, Bad Brothers
                     by Dianne See

                     8:00 a.m. 19.Oct.99.PDT
LONDON -- The Golden Boot and Human
Head were offered up here Monday night
to some of Britain's worst offenders of
                     privacy rights.

No pranks broke up the second annual Big
Brother Awards as happened in the US
version of the awards, when a Microsoft
staffer stole the show by running down to
                     collect Microsoft's prize.

Instead, the crowd of 300 at the London
                     School of Economics politely applauded
privacy violators and cheered for the
                     Winston winners, champions of privacy.

The Lifetime Menace Award was handed
to the Home Office for privacy violations
                     over the past 20 years.
