john logs

When I run John in verbose mode, the proper times are displayed, however, when i check the logs to determine the exact 
amount of time passwords took to be cracked, all logs for all hashes are displayed as 00:00:00.  Is there a way to 
solve this problem?  The exact times are very relevant for my practice.
